Jon Fidler and Damilola Odusote had earlier teamed up to create a conceptual structure that was based on the inspiration and influences behind the Nike Air Force 1. The duo was commissioned by Converse to create a replica of their iconic Chuck Taylor All Star sneaker with 3D printing.  They researched the history of the sneaker and found out that a shoe had history going back to the fighter jet pilots of World War II and also had an important role in basketball as well as rock ‘n’ roll culture. Based on this information, Damilola created a detailed 2D sketch using his unique style. The sketch served as a visual aid for Jon, who designed the final piece for 3D printing. Once the design was complete, SLS nylon plastic was used to create the 3D printed model and a wonderful work of art was developed.

Sadly, this 3D printed model cannot be worn by users unlike other 3D printed shoes.
