You can now get your favorite Hello Kitty products in 3D printed models. MakerBot has teamed up with Sanrio to develop 3D printed collectibles and accessories of Hello Kitty. You will be able to get these collectibles from MakerBot Digital Store and also on the MakerBot PrintShop app. The partnership and the creation of these products are to celebrate the 40th anniversary of Hello Kitty. The collectibles can be printed using the MakerBot Replicator 3D Printers exclusively.

Debut of the Collection

The Hello Kitty 3D printed collection debuts at the first official convention of Hello Kitty- The Hello Kitty Con. The event is being held on 30th October, 2014, at The Geffen Contemporary at MOCA (The Museum of Contemporary Art), which is located in Los Angeles. Apart from that, the collection will also be available in MakerBot PrintShop, on the MakerBot Digital Store and in MakerBot’s app. You can download the app for free from iTunes.

What Types of Collectible will be there?

The 3D printable content will be available in two installments on the MakerBot Digital Store. It will start on 30th October with five snap-on 3D printable outfits and a deluxe Hello Kitty 3D printable model. The digital designs available at the MakerBot Digital Store are priced at $3.99 for each model.

On 30th October, in MakerBot PrintShop, you will also be able to get a ring topper pack of Hello Kitty & Friends. This tool will help designers to print rings easily in PrintShop’s ring maker unit. The unit features My Melody, Bad Badtz-Maru and Hello Kitty. The digital designs for each model that will be created in the MakerBot PrintShop will cost $0.09.

By November, other accessories of Hello Kitty series which include barrette, comb, stencil and more, are expected to be available on the MakerBot Digital Store.

The iconic characters of Sanrio will now come into the world of 3D printing. With Hello Kitty collectibles, this technology will become more popular among people. The 3D printable collection of Hello Kitty shows that 3D printing can be easily accessed by anybody who is interested in using this amazing technology.
