Head & Neck Anatomy is the latest book of Anatomy for Sculptors. The thing that makes this book different than other medical books is the use of augmented reality. This advanced technology has been used in the book to provide readers with 3D images of the head and neck. At present, a Kickstarter campaign is running to raise funds for the project. The funding goal has already been achieved. The human head needs an in-depth reference which 2D images are often unable to provide, like emotions, ethnicities and age.
Head & Neck Anatomy
This book with 3D model images will help painters, sculptors, illustrators and CG artists to develop sculptures, paintings or digital images. Often the artists struggle to create proper representations as they fail to understand flat images which are used in most of the anatomy books.
This is the second book from Anatomy for Sculptors. The brain is the most difficult part of human anatomy to understand. By integrating 3D imagery in the book, the readers will be able to understand it in a better way. These 3D images can be accessed with an augmented reality app at any place and time.
The book is focused on using 3D modeling, MRI, CT and 3D scan procedures of the head and neck. It covers shapes, forms, gender differences, body types, facial topography, ethnicities, age groups and the anatomy of the neck and head.
Use of Augmented Reality
The pages of the book will act as markers which when scanned with the relevant AR app, will activate 3D model images. Unity engine will develop the technology and it will be coded in Vuforia software for app development of Android or iOS devices.
The Kickstarter campaign had a total funding goal of $25,000. Already at the time of writing, $30,260 has been raised with 336 backers. The funding will end on 27th July, 2015 and has only 6 days to go. If you want to get the e-book, you can back the project with $35. For softcover book and the app, you can opt for the early bird special $65 option.
So, if you want to get an interactive view of the human brain, you can back this project and get the Head & Neck Anatomy book.
