Virtual reality headsets are being used in many areas apart from games. Business schools are the latest to use this technology. They are giving trials with virtual reality headsets to provide MBA applicants a feel of the campus. They can take virtual reality tours of the business schools they want to attend without the need of spending hundreds of dollars. Many business schools are planning to invest in this technology so that they can boost up the enrollment of international students who might not be able to attend these schools physically.

Virtual Reality Tours with Oculus Rift
Virtual tours of universities are a common thing. Now with Oculus Rift Development Kit, virtual reality tours will be replacing the virtual tours. The French business school, Audencia Nantes School of Management is planning to use Oculus Rift, the VR headset developed by Oculus VR. Audencia Nantes School of Management will be using the headset along with YouVisit’s software. YouVisit is a company which provides virtual campus tours and works with over 500 universities, most of which are based in the US.
The trial of the VR headset for providing virtual reality campus tours was a successful one at the French business school. Following the success, they are investing in this technology for their fall recruitment campaign. The business school is one of the first to use Oculus Rift along with the software of YouVisit.
Other international business schools like Yale University are also planning to offer their MBA students these virtual reality tours.
How is it going to help MBA Applicants?
The MBA applicants, especially international students can take a VR tour of the campus before deciding on which school to attend. This will reduce their cost of travelling physically to different locations of the business schools in which they have applied. So with these headsets MBA aspirants can not only save their money but also choose the best possible business school without actually visiting it physically.
Business schools on the other hand will benefit from these headsets as they will be able to increase the enrolment of international students significantly. However, once the use of Oculus Rift and YouVisit’s software actually starts, only then its success can be determined.
