Disney is about to release the sequel of its popular comedy adventure Planes: Fire and Rescue. The sequel titled Planes 2: Fire and Rescue will release on 8th August, 2014 all across the world with virtual reality game. To celebrate this release, Disney has teamed up with Microsoft to develop an interesting virtual reality game which the fans can enjoy. The game is known as ‘Save The Day’ and fans can experience the excitement of being a member of the Piston Peak Air Attack Team.
The Virtual Reality Game
‘Save The Day’ will let fans get into the firefighting characters of Dipper and Dusty and will put them in the middle of an action in the air. As the characters of Dipper and Dusty, fans will have to protect the Piston Peak National Park. They are required to search for signs of fire in the Park and they can make their entry or take off from this world of firefighting in the air. As they perform the necessary maneuvers required to put out the blazes, they can get an exclusive look at all the action of the yet-to-be released film. The maneuvers include exciting drops and daring water collection.
Microsoft’s Kinect Comes to Action
The virtual reality game has been developed by Disney in partnership with Apache, an augmented reality specialist. The game uses Kinect for Windows v2 technology of Microsoft. It also uses the Software Development Kit (SDK 2.0) to provide the users with an advanced level of interaction. The motion sensor of this technology lets the players control the aerodynamics of the aircrafts by using their own bodies. Kinect lends the game greater responsiveness, precision and intuitive capabilities.
