Trinity Magnum- The VR Controller

Trinity Magnum- The VR Controller

Trinity VR has started a Kickstarter campaign to raise funds for its VR Controller, Trinity Magnum. The goal of the company is to create a product for the gamers which will help them to play the First Person Shooter (FPS) genre of action video games. It is an accurate motion controller which has been specifically designed for applications of virtual reality. You will feel like you are actually interacting with the virtual object which is in the game. This is possible as the Magnum will give you the independence of looking around and targeting with a dual-grip form factor.

The Trinity Magnum

Trinity Magnum uses optical light tracking. It also uses a webcam and a bright glowing ball on its front end so that it can aid 1:1 orientation and positional tracking. Based on the application in use, gamers can grip the controller with either one hand or two hands. When the users grip it with one hand, they can use the controller as a tennis racket, a medieval sword or even a magic wand. When they use it with two hands, they can pilot a spaceship, use it to shoot enemies in a FPS, decorate a cake or hold a hose as a fire fighter. The motion control interface of the Magnum is a versatile one and comfortable for the gamers to use.

What Sets it Apart from Others?

There are many VR control setups which are really versatile just like Magnum. So what makes it different from others? Well, the price is what sets it apart.  While most of the VR controllers have a price which is quite high, the developer kits for Magnum will be available at around $100. The company also hopes that the ultimate consumer controller will have a competitive price.

It is still a long way to go before the Magnum VR controller becomes a reality. If you want to pledge fund for this project, you can head to their Kickstarter page and get the chance to grab a developer kit.
