Augmented Reality Brings Alive ‘Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom’ Dinosaurs through Moviebill

Moviebill, the augmented reality magazine of Regal Cinema had its first edition in April and is now ready with its second edition with the release of the movie Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom. The movie is set to arrive in Regal theatres on 22nd June, 2018 and the second issue of the magazine will also be available at the same time. It will have the movie poster on its cover and the movie attendees can get the magazine for free. On the opening weekend of the film, one million copies of Moviebill will be available for free to the moviegoers at Regal Cinema.

How does the AR Experience Work?
Users need to download the Regal app in their Android and iPhones to experience this augmented reality feature. They have to use the app to scan the cover of the Moviebill magazine and they can see a 3D T-Rex in animated form. The animations can be captured as photos and can be shared by the users within the app. Universal Pictures has commissioned the art of the cover.

Inside the magazine, at the centerfold, you can see a lot of augmented reality dinosaurs from the location-based augmented reality mobile game, Jurassic World Alive, which was recently released. In other pages of the publication, you can experience other AR games and content. You can check out interviews in augmented reality featuring the movie’s director J.A Bayona and star Bryce Dallas Howard. There is also a welcome message in AR from Chris Pratt, the leading man of the film.

Augmented Reality- A Good Promotional Strategy
This immersive technology has become a promotional tool for most of the recent blockbusters. Most of the movies have carried out exclusive augmented reality promotions.
Matthew Shreder and James Andrew Felts, the co-founders of MovieBill said “Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom is the most immersive Jurassic film to date. We can’t wait for fans to see what we’ve put together and be able to experience the magic of bringing dinosaurs back to life.”
The first issue of Moviebill had ‘Avengers: Infinity Wars’ as its cover. After that, the Regal app has seen around 3 million scans till date.
The third issue of the publication will promote the film ‘Mission: Impossible- Fallout.’
