This FIFA World Cup, Experience Augmented Reality with Snapchat

Snap Inc. and FIFA have joined hands this World Cup to provide football fans with an augmented reality experience like never before. Snapchatters can have this experience using different lenses and filters which have been added to celebrate the football extravaganza. The partnership provides augmented reality lenses which are especially dedicated to the 2018 FIFA World Cup Russia. There are also AR stickers and filters which feature special icons related to the tournament, with which Snapchatters can create video and photo Snaps. The official mascot of this World Cup Zabivaka is also available in the Snapchat filters.

How Can Snapchat Users Experience AR?
From the first day of the World Cup, i.e. 14th June, the stickers are available in the Snapchat Sticker drawer. There is a code available for Snapchat users to scan. This will unlock a special augmented reality face lens for the users which features the Official Mascot of the tournament, Zabivaka. They can also click here.
While the tournament will be on, there will be a collection of FIFA World Cup AR filters for Snapchat users worldwide. On 10 and 11 July, i.e on the days when the semi-finals of the World Cup will be held and on 15th July, when the final is scheduled, global users will be able to see an interactive augmented reality Lens which they can use with 3D Bitmoji.

FIFA Chief Commercial Officer, Philippe Le Floc’h, said: “We wanted to give fans something fun and unique for this edition of the FIFA World Cup. In addition to our digital #WeLiveFootball campaigns, we are excited to be working with Snapchat so fans across the world can use these new creative tools to share their experiences of the 2018 FIFA World Cup Russia with friends.”

We cannot wait for Snapchatters around the world to share their excitement for the 2018 FIFA World Cup Russia with their friends using the creative power of the Snap app.”
